2015 Santa Rita Hills Pinot Noir

2015 Santa Rita Hills Pinot Noir

The 2015 Santa Rita Hills Pinot Noir is a blend of equal parts, the La Encantada and Hilliard Bruce Vineyards. These two vineyards are uniquely located on the cool western edges of this appellation. La Encantada enjoys a touch more afternoon warmth in clay and alluvium based soils, while the Hilliard Bruce Vineyard sits on the deep end of Route 246 in sandy loam.

There is lovely depth and radiance, not to mention tons of Sta. Rita Hills fruit intensity in this Pinot Noir. Spice and rose petals, with dried cherries, mint, crushed flowers and earthy notes are all nicely laced together by silky tannins. All the components are properly proportioned, which adds to the wine’s graciousness and overall appeal.
