Hilliard Bruce Pinot Noir

The Hilliard Bruce Vineyard Pinot Noir is located in one of the coolest regions in Santa Barbara, just inside the Santa Rita Hills on the west end of Route 246. Planted in very sandy, silty loam, these vines are majestically placed amongst the native oak trees, and are meticulously farmed. The fast draining soils and maritime influences stress the vines which builds intensified flavors and unique character.

There is lovely depth and radiance, not to mention ample Sta. Rita Hills fruit intensity in this well balanced Pinot Noir. Spice and rose petals, with dried cherries, mint, crushed flowers and earth are all nicely woven together. All the components are properly proportioned, which adds to the wine’s graciousness and overall appeal. Robert Parker 90 points.

The 2015 Hilliard Bruce Pinot is bright, floral and nuanced, with all the subtleties this Sta. Rita Hills site is capable of. Fresh cut flowers, mint and red/purplish fruit are all pushed forward. It has a perfumed, exotic bouquet of passion fruits, framboise, violets, with ultra- fine tannins and a beautiful finish. J. Dunnuck 90 points.
