2016 Santa Rita Hills Pinot Noir

The 2016 Santa Rita Hills Pinot Noir is a blend of equal parts, the La Encantada and Hilliard Bruce Vineyards. These two vineyards are uniquely located on the cool western edges of this appellation. La Encantada enjoys a touch more afternoon warmth in clay and alluvium based soils, while the Hilliard Bruce Vineyard sits on the deep end of Route 246 in sandy loam.

The 2016 Sta. Rita Hills Pinot Noir is the appellation blend of the estate and has a bright ruby color to go with a textbook Sta Rita Hills bouquet of ripe cherry and framboise fruits, spice, and dried soils and earth notes. It’sripe, nicely textured, has sweet tannin, and classic Pinot Noir charm. Jeb Dunnuck 91 points.
